In my blogs, I usually like to talk about bass fishing since it is my passion, but over the last couple of years I have a new favorite product. It is not special bait, rod, or reel, but a Buff. Just like the ones you have seen being used on Survivor for the last 20 years. For fisherman and fisherwoman it is very important to keep your skin protected as much as possible especially with our west cost summers. In BC, we enjoy some of the hottest and sunniest conditions in Canada, so it is very important to protect your skin. The majority of people wear sunscreen when their enjoying their outdoor activity.
I have found sometimes I forgot sunscreen or fisherman don’t want to put it on because they think it can leave a smell on their lures. That is where the Buff comes in. I carry one in my pack all the time when I am fishing, working outside, or hunting. It gives amazing protection to your whole face, neck, and ear reign. It is also very comfortable and easy to move on and off your face. Another great feature about the Buff it is not just for when it is sunny out. You can be running down a lake on a cool morning and it helps to keep the wind off your face and ears.
Buffs are not just designed for the summer crowd. They have a winter version that has a soft fleece lining. This Buff looks like a bandana and comes in a number of cool prints to apply to a number of different tastes. It is great for ice fishing and doing any winter activity keeps your face and neck warm while looking great.
So, if you’re looking to avoid skin damage and keep young looking skin wear sunscreen, moisturize, rock a Buff, and remember they are not just for the summer.
Tight lines!
